Guest Artist 2011: Patrick Cook
Patrick has been dancing for 10 years, the last 7 under the direction of Christy Curtis at CC&Co. Dance Complex in Raleigh, North Carolina. He is grateful to have performed the choreography of Peter Chu, Travis Wall, Mandy Moore, Nick Lazzarini, Misha Gabriel, Joey Dowling, Sonya Tayeh, Jason Parsons, Ayodele Casel, Danny Wallace, Mark Goodman, and many more. Locally, he has worked with the performance company “Elevate” and performed in “A Chorus Line” directed by Charlotte D’amboise and Terrence Mann.
Patrick is trained in myriad forms of dance, including: hip hop, contemporary, jazz, tap, musical theater and ballet. He has received numerous scholarships from NYCDA, NUVO, JUMP, WCDE, Monsters of Hip Hop, Tap Kids & Totally Tap, and Adrenaline Dance. He performed in the 2010 Capezio ACE Awards and assisted on the 2010-2011 Adrenaline Dance tour. A budding choreographer, Patrick collaborated on an award winning trio that earned 2nd place at 2010 WCDE nationals. Currently he is under the Elite Protege Scholarship program at THE PULSE where he tours and assists the top choreographers in the country.
When not dancing and creating, he enjoys reading, movies and manipulating music. Patrick plans to move to Los Angeles the summer of 2012 to continue training and dance professionally.
Patrick visited Carolina Dance Company in November 2011 as a guest hip-hop instructor.
