Pre-School (Age 3): Creative Movement; Tumbling & Kid-Hop Combination; Clogging
Creative Movement will be offered to dancers who will be 3 years of age by September 1. The 45-minute creative movement class will focus on simple dance technique (pre-ballet & pre-tap technique), coordination, flexibility, creativity and imagination. Required class attire consists of a leotard and footless tights. No shoes are required for Pre-K3 dancers. Students enrolled in the creative movement class will perform in 2 spring recital pieces (the purchase of one costume will be required to participate in the recital; costume price will range from $70-$90).
Tumbling & Kid-Hop is a 45 minute class that meets once a week and is also offered to Pre-School students. Tumbling & Kid-Hop classes will focus on flexibility, coordination, balance and strength and basic dance skills; skills will include rolls, bridges, cartwheels, skipping, galloping & chasse. All tumbling time will be spent on tumbling mats. Required attire includes a leotard, footless tights and bare feet or gym shorts, a fitted top & bare feet. Students enrolled in tumbling & kid-hop will participate in two dances in the spring recital (the purchase of one costume will be required to participate in the recital; costume price will range from $70-$90).
Pre-school dancers also have the option of beginning clogging lessons. Clogging is a 30-minute class that will cover basic clogging steps and vocabulary. Required attire for the Pre-School Clogging Class consists of a leotard or fitted top with jazz pants/jazz shorts, tights or socks and white clogging shoes with Buck Taps (see Shoe Requirements for detailed shoe information). Dancers enrolled in the Pre-School Clogging Class will perform 2 clogging routines in the spring dance recital (the purchase of one costume will be required to participate in the recital; costume price will range from $70-$90).

The 45-minute Kindergarten Tap & Jazz Class will build fundamentals for tap and jazz while introducing vocabulary and technical elements. Required class attire consists of a leotard, tights, black patent tap shoes and slip-on jazz shoes (see Shoe Requirements for detailed shoe information including jazz shoe color). Dancers enrolled in the Tap & Jazz Combo Class will perform in 1 tap dance and 1 jazz dance during the spring recital (the purchase of one costume will be required to participate in the recital; costume price will range from $70-$90).
Kindergarten dancers also have the option to enroll in the Kindergarten/1st Grade Ballet Class. The K/1st Ballet class will focus on basic ballet positions, steps and vocabulary during the 30-minute session. Dancers will begin to learn proper technique and implementation of ballet positions as the year progresses. Required class attire consists of a leotard, tights and pink ballet shoes. Dancers enrolled in the K/1st Ballet Class will perform in 1 ballet dance in the spring recital (the purchase of one costume will be required to participate in the recital; costume price will range from $70-$90).

Dancers who enter the 2nd -5th grade in the fall of the dance year will be offered a Tap & Jazz Combination Class. Tap class will focus on expanding vocabulary and mastery of basic tap steps. Jazz is a high energy form of dance that includes big movement, turns and jumps. The Tap & Jazz Combination Class is a 45-minute class that requires a leotard and tights or a fitted top with jazz pants or jazz shorts, black tap shoes and slip-on jazz shoes (see Shoe Requirements for detailed shoe information including jazz shoe color). Students enrolled in the Tap & Jazz Combination Class will perform in 1 tap dance and 1 jazz dance in the spring recital (the purchase of one costume will be required to participate in the recital; costume price will range from $70-$90).
Dancers who enter the 2nd -5th grade in the fall of the dance year may also continue their training with the Ballet & Lyrical Combination Class. This 45-minute class will continue to educate dancers on proper ballet technique with a focus on alignment, flexibility, and proper execution of technical skills. Lyrical dance, when compared to ballet, is more expressive, less technical and generally faster paced. Required attire includes a leotard, tights & pink ballet shoes (see Shoe Requirements for detailed shoe information). Students enrolled in the Ballet & Lyrical Combination Class will perform 1 ballet dance and 1 lyrical dance in the spring recital (the purchase of one costume will be required to participate in the recital; costume price will range from $70-$90).
Dancers who enter the 2nd -5th grade in the fall of the dance year may choose to also enroll in the Beginner or Intermediate Clogging Class. These 30-minute classes cover continued clogging vocabulary and technique. Required attire includes a leotard and tights or a fitted top with jazz pants or jazz shorts and white clogging shoes with Buck Taps (see Shoe Requirements for detailed shoe information). Students enrolled in the Beginner or Intermediate Clogging Class will perform 1 clogging routine in the spring recital (the purchase of one costume will be required to participate in the recital; costume price will range from $70-$90).

Dancers who enter the 6th, 7th or 8th grade in the fall of the dance year are eligible to take the Middle Grades Lyrical & Jazz Combination Class. The 45-minute Lyrical & Jazz Combination Class will focus on continued development of technical skills. Students at this level will be expected to work outside of class to perfect technique and accomplish performance goals as they will be exposed to more advanced movement while in class. Required attire includes a leotard with convertible tights or a fitted top with jazz pants or jazz shorts, lyrical sandals and slip-on jazz shoes (see Shoe Requirements for detailed shoe information including jazz shoe color). Students enrolled in the Middle Grades Lyrical & Jazz Combination Class will perform a minimum of 1 lyrical dance and 1 jazz dance in the spring recital (the purchase of two costumes will be required to participate in the recital; each costume price will range from $50-$70).
Dancers who enter the 6th, 7th or 8th grade in the fall of the dance year and choose to continue their studies in Tap may elect to take a 30-minute tap class each week. During this class focus will be on development of more advanced Tap technique and vocabulary. Students enrolled in the Middle Grades Tap Class will be expected to work outside of class to perfect technique and accomplish performance goals, as they will be exposed to more advanced Tap movement in class. Middle School dancers may also elect to take Pointe class (MUST BE TAKEN WITH BALLET). Pointe class will meet once a week for 30 minutes. Dancers will focus on Pointe technique and vocabulary in the fall and Pointe choreography in the Spring. Required attire includes a leotard, tights and Pointe shoes (see Shoe Requirements for detailed shoe information). Students enrolled in Pointe will use their Ballet costume in the spring recital and perform a minimum of 1 Pointe routine in the recital.
Dancers who enter the 6th, 7th or 8th grade in the fall of the dance year may choose to continue their clogging studies with a 45-minute clogging class each week. During this class focus will be on development of more advanced clogging steps and technique. Students enrolled in the Intermediate Clogging Class will be expected to work outside of class to perfect technique and accomplish performance goals, as they will be exposed to more advanced Clogging steps in class. Required attire includes a leotard and tights or a fitted top with jazz pants or jazz shorts and white clogging shoes with Buck Taps (see Shoe Requirements for detailed shoe information). Students enrolled in the intermediate Clogging Class will perform in 1 clogging dance in the spring recital (the purchase of one costume will be required to participate in the recital; costume price will range from $70-$90).
Dancers who enter 6th thru 12th grade in the fall of the dance year have the option of enrolling in Hip-Hop. This class will meet for 30 minutes each week and cover popular hip-hop dance moves. Class music will consist of edited versions of popular songs. Class requirements include a leotard and tights or a fitted top with jazz pants or jazz shorts. Shoes required are slip-on jazz shoes (please see Shoe Requirements for detailed shoe information including jazz shoe color). Dancers enrolled in Hip-Hop will perform in one routine in the spring dance recital (the purchase of one costume will be required to participate in the recital; costume price will range from $70-$90).
