FAQ

Will my child be in a class with children of the same age?

Carolina Dance Company dancers are initially placed based on age, followed by dance experience at our studio. Our class cut-off date for age is September 1. CDC Instructors reserve the right to alter a dancer’s schedule based on experience, maturity and progress. Though we try to accomodate your age requests, we feel that having each child in the ability appropriate class is our paramount consideration. We always want your child to be in the level where he or she will have the best learning experience.

When is registration?

Early Registration takes place each spring. Currently enrolled dancers at Carolina Dance Company are given first priority for their choice of classes; students who are on a waiting list are given second priority for registration followed by new dancers.

Registration continues throughout the summer as class space permits. There is an annual family registration fee of $40 (non-refundable/non-transferable).

Dancers who wish to enroll at Carolina Dance Company after classes begin (September-April) may register if class space permits.

Do I need to let the studio know if my child will be absent?

Yes, please!! We would appreciate a call, text or email if you schedule does not permit attendance on class day.

When can I become a teacher assistant?

Students are asked to become teacher assistants after studying for several years. Good attendance and mastery of technique are both requirements to become a teacher assistant. Please let us know if you are interested in becoming a student teacher!
